The five Florida chapters of the International Association of Special Investigation Units were established to strengthen collaboration among insurance fraud investigators, law enforcement, prosecutors, and industry professionals throughout the state. Together, they form the Florida IASIU Collective, dedicated to combating insurance fraud through education, networking, training, and public awareness.
South Florida Chapter
Founded in 1995, the South Florida Chapter was created by a group of investigators who recognized the need for a more organized and unified fraud-fighting network in South Florida. The chapter quickly became known for bringing together SIU professionals, NICB representatives, attorneys, and law enforcement agencies to address evolving fraud trends and provide specialized training opportunities.
Central Florida Chapter
The Central Florida Chapter traces its roots back to informal SIU networking meetings held across the I-4 corridor in the early 1990s. As interest in organized collaboration grew, the chapter formally incorporated in March 1994 and received its official IASIU charter in April 1994, making it one of the earliest IASIU chapters in the country. Since then, it has remained a key educational and networking resource for fraud investigators in Central Florida.
Orlando Chapter
The Orlando Chapter was officially formed in January 2007 and incorporated with the State of Florida the following month. Built on the core mission of IASIU, the chapter focuses on professional development, fraud awareness, and community outreach, while also supporting charitable initiatives throughout the Orlando area.
Southwest Florida Chapter
The Southwest Florida Chapter was established to serve investigators and fraud professionals throughout the Gulf Coast region. The chapter emphasizes ethics, interagency cooperation, and specialized fraud training, while fostering partnerships between insurers, law enforcement, and legal professionals in Southwest Florida.
North Florida Chapter
The North Florida Chapter was formed to support SIU professionals and fraud investigators throughout North Florida by promoting training, information sharing, and professional collaboration. Like the other Florida chapters, it operates under the mission of IASIU to strengthen the fight against insurance fraud through education, awareness, and coordinated investigative efforts.
